SnapGPT API Outage — November 24, 2025

Summary

SnapGPT’s API became unavailable starting at 10:52 AM CST due to a DNS configuration failure that caused api.snapgpt.me to stop resolving correctly across multiple global regions. This resulted in API timeouts, SSL errors, and connection failures.

All SnapGPT products that rely on the API — including the Chrome and Firefox extensions — were affected.

The earlier issue causing Anthropic Claude requests to fail has been fully resolved. All Claude Sonnet and related model requests are now processing normally. OpenAI GPT requests remained unaffected throughout.

We experienced a brief service disruption affecting the SnapGPT Application API starting at 9:39 AM CDT. A sudden surge in traffic temporarily exceeded our server capacity, which caused timeouts for some requests across multiple regions.

The issue was resolved quickly at 9:50 AM CDT, and the API is fully operational again.
We’re increasing our server capacity to better handle future demand spikes.
